Day 1
Morning
- Introductions – learn about each other’s backgrounds and intentions for the course
- The firm as a business – revenue model, ownership and reward, cash flow and the costs of growth, billing and collections
- Business planning – how to construct a plan and accompanying financial assumptions
Afternoon
- Values – exploring individual and organisational values and the exchange of value in legal service business
- Self Management – learning about personal growth, optimal experience, the psychological and physiological effects of stress, and unlocking creativity
- Relationship management – building trust, understanding interdependencies, conduct and behaviour
Day 2
Morning
- Design a firm – an exercise in which delegates divide into groups and design their own firms using a business plan framework and financial model
Afternoon
- Communication – understanding the market realities and how to make the most of your communications
- Winning new business – building an individual and a firm ‘brand’; selling yourself and your firm effectively
Day 3
Morning
