Energy

Energy
the invisible force that we bring to our life and work through our cognitive, emotional and physical powers.
Energy is our life force and its means of expression. Energy can flow or be constricted; it can be expansive and positive, or restrictive and negative. Fear and self-protection lead to contraction; trust and confidence lead to expansion.
We most often remark on energy when we feel short of it, or see it expressed through exuberance and activity. It is of course being used and expended all the time and though we can often draw on unrecognised reserves in times of need there is always an account to be settled. How and in what environment we are asked to direct our energy can make all the difference. The extent to which we act freely, as volunteers as opposed to being forced or obliged, can make an immense difference to the amount of energy available.
One sure cause of weariness and lack of energy is resistance – to what is, to what is not as you wish it to be, to action without meaningful purpose, to others whose behaviours are cause for consternation and disappointment. Resistance training in the gym builds a certain kind of strength and can be beneficial; resistance in a relationship, whether personal or business, calcifies and hardens to a shell we retreat behind to protect ourselves from perceived harm.
Unleashing the power within, unfettering ourselves from the limitations we have placed on our selves or accepted from others, is the single most important ‘right’ that few of us ever claim. Being afraid of our greatness, hiding from authentic choice, action and voice leaves us smaller, weaker and less able to serve our needs or the needs of others. The life energy we have access to can achieve anything we dare intend.
